There continues to be much debate about the merits of different ways that health systems choose to pay family doctors. While most GPs in British Columbia work under the fee for service system, there is also a non-FFS funding model called “population-based funding” that has been in existence for 17 years. Join them for this interactive Speaker Series Panel featuring Eric Bringsli, lead for population funding at the BC Ministry of Health, and Drs. Kuljit Sajjan, Mitchell Fagan, and Carol Murphy, family physicians with extensive experience working under population-based funding.
Tuesday, September 29th | 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Together, they will speak to this system: what it is, how it works, what are its strengths/challenges, and what has been done over recent years to implement this payment approach.
This event is directed to family physicians in the greater Vancouver area, and those interested in primary health care policy. We encourage those interested in this topic to register, and to bring your questions or concerns to the Q&A session following the presentations.
This event is free to members and nonmembers, no accreditation. Light refreshments provided.
